Outstanding Junior

Marcus played off the bench, behind Long Beach Poly’s outstanding front line.  For BWBA, he has averaged over 20 ppg and has become one of the Southland's top rising juniors.  Marcus is a very good rebounder on both boards and plays with a ferociousness around the basket that belies his age.  He just recently turned  16 years old this August.   He has become a go to scorer in the low post and is beginning to add perimeter skills and experience to his game.  Marcus has a very bright future if he can sustain his hungriness to learn and  improve.

Outstanding Junior

Christian came out and played with BWBA Orange in the prestigious Full Court Press Fall Classic. He is an outstanding High Major prospect. He is extremely athletic and long. He is averaging 20 ppg at Wingfield H.S. playing for Coach Herman Sanders. He is a superior shot blocker, excellent defensive rebounder and good turnaround jump shooter within 8 to 10 feet of the basket. He has excellent grades in the 3.5 neighborhood and is a superior young man and was a pleasure to coach. He is planning to play with BWBA this coming spring.

Outstanding Junior

Todd is probably the most improved basketball player in Southern California. He moved here from Texas with his family just before the start of his Sophomore year, enrolling in Santa Margarita H.S. in Orange County. He and his dad are the most committed basketball family in Orange County. Todd has not only worked closely with Bob Gottlieb at the Branch West Basketball Academy on his skill development, but has worked continually over the last year and a half with Marv Marinovich on his physical development.

Whereas Todd was only an occasional starter on the Junior Varsity as a Sophomore, he has matured and blossomed as a full time starter on the Varsity as a Junior and may well end up their leading scorer before the year is over. Todd will be recruited at the NCAA D1 level for certain.

Point Guard

Andrew is a committed youngster, who has put a lot of time into his development and has moved into the starting lineup at Servite. Plays both point guard and shooting guard. He is a very good shooter with range, a good ball handler, and solid defender with toughness, and should ultimately play in college at some level.

Nate improved greatly after joining the Branch West Basketball Academy developmental program in early August. He is a highly athletic talented scoring point guard. He starts for New Roads H.S. at point guard and now appears to be someone who will have the opportunity to play at the next level in college.

Outstanding Junior

Mike has improved greatly after joining the Branch West Basketball Academy developmental program since last January. He is an outstanding shooter with excellent range and blessed with excellent basketball instincts overall. His dad, Mike Sr. was an excellent player, playing for the highly respected Gary Smith who is still the head coach at Redlands after all these years. With continued improvement and maturity Mike has an excellent chance to be a highly recruited NCAA D2 player.
